Diversity

Overview

Promotes awareness and appreciation of self and others through various programming. In addition to clubs and campus programming, the following help to address the needs of a diverse campus.

Paper Forums - Campus community members write down opinions on select topics and can be found throughout the semester in common areas.

Focus Groups - An important part of providing events and services that enhance student life, Focus Groups are conducted every semester to get student feedback.

Constituency Senators - SGA provides representation for all students at ACC.  A few groups have specific senators to hear and address student issues for Students with Disabilities along with Distance Learning, International, Non-Traditional, Veteran and Minority Students.

Training - Diversity Directors and Campus Teams will be a key element to the success of the Diversity & Inclusion Cluster programming. These students will lead the Unity Jam event planning, support the Diversity Symposium, table and advertise on campus. Student Life Staff and Diversity Directors will be sent a Google shared file via their ACC email that will give them access to training modules covering the following:

  • Diversity Programs in Student Life
  • Diversity Programming on Campus: A Diversity Director Guide
